There is something extraordinary about the analogue process. For one, there is the mystery of not being able to see your photos right away. And there is the peculiar mechanical sound of the camera, and the sheer beauty of looking through the viewfinder. All of this conjures up the magic of photography in its purest form.
Portraits
I’ve photographed many people in their homes. The good thing about this is that you are comfortable there and I get to photograph in ever-changing situations. I also do portrait shoots in the studio at Het Objectief in Gent.
Sitting in front of a camera is always a little daunting, but rest assured: my photo sessions are more like talks and spontaneous try-outs than formal moments of posing.
